A 3D remake of the game, titled Cave Story 3D, was developed by Nicalis and published by NIS America for the Nintendo 3DS in November 2011. The game focuses on an amnesiac protagonist who awakens in a cave. I bought it for wiiu ages ago and will probably get it for the 3ds at some point. Previously, NIS America brought out Cave Story 3D as a retail title in 2011. The place to discuss all stuff related to the Nintendo 3DS™ family! Get the normal 3DS version that is 2D but with added stereoscopic. In March 2021 Cave Story was ranked 2212 on popular streaming platform Twitch based on 9 thousand hours watched. While Cave Story 3D will feature glasses-free stereoscopic 3D graphics, the game will still play like the side-scrolling action adventure that inspired it.

Cave Story 3D, the 3DS remake of the cult indie hit from 2004, finally has a solid release date now that NIS America has announced that game will be available on August 9th in North America. Looks like the eShop version has all the good improvements for the 3DS and none of the bad ones, and it looks like the 3D version even removed some content, which seems odd. Cave story of my favourite game of all time, I have played both the one with 3D models and the one with pixel graphics and they are both very good. Cave Story 3D is a side scrolling action adventure game inspired by the fan-favorite 2D original. Although, when I played Cave Story 3D, I used the "Classic" option where the characters were 2D. "Famitracks" is added as a soundtrack option, created by composer RushJet1. Cave Story Wiki is a FANDOM Games Community. 
Bull, the steam version is only 50mb, the original far far less, 3DS cartridges are very high capacity, and the under-done graphics of the 3DS … Cave Story also appears, but is harder to find in Google because having the word 3DS in the search makes it match the 3D one only.
At the outset, you can choose to play with the updated sprites or the original ones, though the game doesn’t go out of its way to make the difference in those choice clear to you.

Cave Story is a Platformer game developed by Studio Pixel that can be played on Windows, WiiWare, and Nintendo 3DS. In the cartridge version (Cave Story 3D) they changed the visuals and they're super ugly. I don't have a problem with pixel art games per se, but I'm kind of bored by the style due to the sheer number of games that use it.
